Some services provided are not covered under our contract with the NHS and therefore attract charges. Examples include the following:
- Medicals for pre-employment, sports and driving requirements (HGV, PSV etc.)
- Insurance claim forms
- Prescriptions for taking medication abroad
- Private sick notes
- Vaccination certificates
The fees charged are based on the British Medical Association (BMA) suggested scales and the most common ones are listed below. Our reception staff will be happy to advise you about them along with appointment availability.

Private Referral Letters
If a patient is referred for treatment to a private hospital, they need to collect the referral letter from the surgery - it is not posted.
As referral letters may take up to one week to type, from the date the patient consulted with one of our doctors, patients should not arrange an appointment to see a consultant within that week as they will not have a referral letter to take with them.
Private Prescriptions
Please note that if you are under a private consultant then that consultant organises your prescriptions and any tests required. These cannot be done under the NHS so please don't ask.
