Our doctors are typically able to consult with four patients in the practice in the time it takes to do a single home visit. For this reason, we ask our patients to book a telephone appointment or attend the surgery if at all possible. However, if you are housebound or have an illness that prevents you from coming to the surgery, we will arrange to visit you at home.
Home visits will be carried out only when the doctor considers that the medical condition of the patient makes this necessary. We are unable to guarantee a particular doctor will do a home visit.
If possible, please try to telephone before 10.30am if you think that you may need a home visit.
You can also be visited at home by a community nurse if you are referred by your GP. You should also be visited at home by a health visitor if you have recently had a baby or if you are newly registered with a GP and have a child under five years.
